Our story

minimal. mindful. made to last.

Our mai + mac swimwear is created with these three aspects in mind.

As new parents, we were unable to find swimwear for our little ones that we would wear ourselves. We wanted designs that were minimal, classic, practical and in a range of modern colours.

As a result, we decided to make our own!

We are mindful we need to minimise our impact on the earth for the future of our little ones.

Our swimwear is made from ECONYL®, a 100% regenerated nylon yarn derived from pre and post industrial waste such as discarded fishing nets. This waste is being removed from our Earth and repurposed to be worn into the ocean by our little ones.

Your little one’s swimwear will be posted in compostable and recyclable ‘Real Dirt Bag’ satchels from BETTERPACKAGING.co that will biodegrade in 3-6 months in a home compost. New swimwear and compost for the garden – how good is that?

It is also important to us that our brand supports the community in which we manufacture our swimwear. Our manufacturer has demonstrated they meet or exceed government minimum wage and age requirements, have fair policies with respect to annual and maternity leave and provide and support safe practices for their employees.

We have also partnered with CPR Kids to offer all our customers with a 10% discount for any of their Baby & Kids First Aid courses. The discount code will be emailed post purchase.

We are committed to giving back to the community. To mark every mai + mac birthday, each September we will donate a portion of the previous year’s profits to a charity which aligns with our values.

made to last

Due to its innovative construction and the complex engineering process to produce the fabrics used for our swimwear, our swimwear is not only sustainable but is also soft, durable and twice as resistant to chlorine, suntan creams, oils and ice cream stains!
